Happy Birthday Harry Cameron Jacobs

My father-in-law Harry was born on the Ides of March, 1924 and emigrated to Canada in 1948.

Today, the family (which includes many nieces and nephews) gathered at Casey's Roadhouse to celebrate his 90th birthday. Harry has been having some health issues lately and is currently in the Rehab Unit at Extendicare York following abdominal surgery, but we broke him out him for his birthday lunch.

Casey's was great. They set the small private room for us and, although it was against their policy, allowed us to bring in Harry's favourite Black Forest cake. After all, as Bev the manager said, it isn't every day that someone turns ninety.

By the way, the hardest winter in a long time just keeps going on. This was the scene from our doorway this morning. Usually when snow comes early, it leaves early. This year looks to be making an exception.

Sure it's pretty but I've had enough
